Preparing for a tour!

The last few weeks have been probably the most intense of this project, with our Empatheatre partners and Andrew Buckland doing a tremendous job bringing a story to life – from our extensive research of various kinds, through the careful crafting of a script, to the final staging by an incredibly skilled actor.

The show ‘Unruly’ is now fully booked out on Sunday in Kommetjie, Monday in Constantia, and Tuesday in Simon’s Town. There are still a few seats left for our smaller venues on Wednesday in Da Gama Park and Thursday in Glencairn, and quite a few for the final show on Friday in Capri.

In other news – actual news – the Constantiaberg Bulletin has published an article about our show, with a beautiful quote from Mr. Buckland: “I was excited by what I understood to be their [Empatheatre’s] driving motivation which seemed to align so exactly with my own in making theatre work. To create spaces in which we humans can exercise and practise the skill of empathy; this seems to me to be at the very heart and core of the act of theatre. The creative process has exceeded my expectations, and I cannot wait to engage with the audience with this material and with the interactions it stimulates.”
